I'll admit, I never truly relax when I'm flying my Phantom over the ocean.Thoughts of props flying off or a random act of nature never seem to leave the back of my mind but once the Kodak moment starts to happen, I generally let go of all my self-induced doomsday scenarios. Fact is, the Phantom 4 Pro Plus has been unbelievably reliable. I also believe that DJI does a hell of a lot to idiot proof the experience but no one can ever remove Murphy's Law so we all need to take simple precautions. One of the reasons I decided on the Phantom 4 Pro + is the dedicated controller - no iPhone or iPad required!
Removing one's personal cell phone or "everyday driver" iPad from the equation, seriously improves your chances of coming home with drone intact. I know way, way too many people who have simply not even mastered a basic iPhone/iPad software updates, not to mention apps ... but you know who you are! So if you are the least bit tech challenged, stick with the Pro+ and leave the phone in the car.
